Five teenage girls were arrested Wednesday after a brawl at Newark Memorial High School, raising tensions on a campus already reeling from the weekend slaying of a star football player, police said.
Investigators and school officials said there is no connection between the fight and the fatal stabbing of Osana Futi, a Newark Memorial senior who was killed at a Fremont party Saturday night.
The brawl Wednesday involved female students age 15 and 16, police Cmdr. Mike Carroll said.
