United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that an Oglala
man charged with abusive sexual contact was sentenced on June 18, 2012
by U.S. District Judge Jeffrey L. Viken. Christopher Lone Elk, age 43,
was sentenced to 120 months’ imprisonment and five years’ supervised
release and was ordered to pay $100 to the Victim Assistance Fund.
Between September and November 2010, near Oglala, Lone Elk engaged in
sexual contact with a 13-year-old girl. He pleaded guilty on December
1, 2012.
This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Sarah B. Collins prosecuted the case.
