Fishers, IN
A 3-foot python kept as a classroom pet is on the loose in a Fishers school. Rocky the snake managed to get out of a terrarium in a seventh-grade science classroom at Fishers Junior High School sometime Thursday. District spokeswoman Marianna Richards stressed that the snake does not have fangs, is not venomous and is routinely held by students.
"The teacher believes Rocky is in the classroom and the doors have been kept closed," Richards said. "The room will not be used for classes until the snake is found."
An animal control company was being called to the school Friday.
