Belleview, FL
A Belleview man, telling
a Star-Banner reporter he made a mistake when he downloaded child
pornography, was given a bond of $25,000 Saturday morning.
Ronald Edgar Slauson said the pornography was “strictly for
possession,” and he doesn’t “share it with anyone.” Slauson said he has
“never molested a child.”
“I made a mistake when I downloaded it,” he said. “Honestly, I don’t know why I did it, even though I know it was wrong.”
The
72-year-old man was arrested by a Florida Department of Law Enforcement
official and a goverment agent on Friday and charged with five counts
of possession of child pornography.

This afternoon a federal judge in Albuquerque sentenced Karl Domingo,
37, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation who resides in Rock Spring,
New Mexico, to a 24-month prison term for his abusive sexual contact
conviction. Domingo will be on supervised release for seven years after
he completes his prison sentence. He also will be required to register
as a sex offender.
Domingo pled guilty to an information charging him with abusive
sexual contact with a minor on June 6, 2012 under a plea agreement with
the U.S. Attorney’s Office. In his plea agreement, Domingo admitted
that, in the summer of 2007, he sexually assaulted a 10-year-old female
child by touching her genitalia with his finger. Domingo further
admitted that the sexual assault occurred at the child’s home which was
located within the Navajo Indian Reservation.

This morning in federal court, Carlena Martin, 25, a member of the
Navajo Nation who resides in Crownpoint, New Mexico, pled guilty to an
indictment charging her with child abuse under a plea agreement with the
U.S. Attorney’s Office.
U.S. Attorney Kenneth J. Gonzales said that, during today’s plea
hearing, Martin admitted abusing her 4-month-old infant on April 23,
2012. In her plea agreement, Martin stated that on that date, she became
intoxicated and repeatedly dropped the infant while carrying him
outside her home, which is located on the Navajo Indian Reservation.

U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul, Jr. announced today that James S.
Allen, 36, of New Baltimore, Michigan, has been arrested and charged by
criminal complaint with cyberstalking, trafficking in computer
passwords, and making harassing telephone calls. The charges carry a
maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Aaron J. Mango, who is handling the case,
stated that according to complaint, between June 24, 2012 and August 14,
2012, the defendant utilized the Internet and text messages to
communicate with at least 10 female victims in the Western District of
New York, many of them minors, in an effort to obtain pornographic
pictures of the minors. The complaint alleges that Allen would contact
the victims and tell them that he found naked pictures of them on the
Internet. The defendant then directed the victims to a specific website
to view the pictures. In reality, the website was a front by which the
defendant sought to surreptitiously obtain the victim’s private e-mail
address and password—such a site is sometimes referred to by law
enforcement as a “phishing” website.
