Crimes against Children 9-3-12 Part II

Madison, WI

A Juneau County man has been bound over for trial on 20 counts of possession of child pornography.
Bradley Carver
Bradley Carver, of Necedah, waived his right to a preliminary hearing Thursday in Juneau County Circuit Court.

The charges resulted from an investigation by the Wood County Sheriff's Department into the use of "peer-to-peer" file sharing programs for distribution of child pornography.

According to the criminal complaint, a Wood County investigator was able to monitor traffic on the peer-to-peer software and saw files suspected to be child pornography distributed through an Internet protocol address that was later determined to be assigned to Carver.

Dry Ridge, KY
State police arrested two northern Kentucky men Thursday on child pornography charges.

Troopers said they executed search warrants at homes in Boone and Kenton counties, where they said they found pornographic images and videos stored on computers and other devices.

Bernard Jividen, 57, of Elsmere, Mark Rucker, 44, of Walton, were arrested and each charged with five counts of possession of child porn, which is punishable by up to five years on each count, if they're convicted.

Aurora, IL
A 53-year-old Aurora man is free today on $200,000 bail following his arrest Wednesday on a charge of aggravated possession of child pornography.

Paul G. Williams was taken into custody at a car-rental business in Des Plaines after Aurora Police, working with the Will County State's Attorney's High-Tech Crimes Unit, executed a search warrant at his home on the 1900 block of Gardner Circle East.

Honolulu, HI
A British citizen was sentenced Friday to 30 years in prison for producing child pornography, announced Assistant Attorney General Lanny A. Breuer of the Criminal Division and U.S. Attorney for the District of Hawaii Florence T. Nakakuni.

Simon Jasper McCarty, 39, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge J. Michael Seabright of the District of Hawaii.  In addition to his prison sentence, McCarty was sentenced to serve lifetime supervised release and pay $98,458 in restitution.

McCarty is the son of British rock star Jim McCarty, who was the drummer for the Yardbirds.
On Jan. 10, McCarty pleaded guilty to one count of producing child pornography.  At the time of the plea colloquy, McCarty admitted that between 2005 and 2007, he molested three different prepubescent boys outside of the United States and produced videos of the molestation.

Pittsgrove, NJ
Charles T. Meyers, 40, of Dennis Place, was indicted by a Salem County Grand Jury on second-degree distribution of child pornography and fourth-degree possession of child pornography.

Meyers was arrested July 17 after information was received by authorities with Salem and Gloucester counties’ Internet Crimes Against Children task forces (SCICAC and GCICAC) of inappropriate images allegedly being transmitted from an IP address traced back to Meyers’ computer.

According to authorities, through an investigation, detectives from the Monroe Township Police Department and a member of the GCICAC were able to download alleged child pornography from Meyers’ home computer using LimeWire, a free peer-to-peer file sharing program.

According to court records, Meyers made available “images and videos depicting prepubescent females in various states of undress engaged in prohibited sex acts or simulation of such.”

Kansas City, MO
Federal investigators believe there could be more victims of child molestation in the Kansas City area after a second man was charged as part of an international child pornography ring.

Homeland Security Investigations special agent Gary Hartwig says the arrest of 38-year-old Michael Arnett in May prompted others to come forward and accuse 38-year-old Robert Poe III of molesting them.

Poe was arrested Aug. 10 in Laredo, Texas, on three counts of traveling to entice a minor to engage in sexual activity. Prosecutors say Poe was a close friend of Arnett, who is facing federal charges of making, possessing and distributing child pornography.
