Junior High Students Report Assaults

A Douglass High School student has been accused of assaulting two Jefferson Junior High School students in separate recent incidents.

The first happened last week on a school bus, Columbia Public Schools spokeswoman Michelle Baumstark said, but she did not have further details. The second occurred Monday, when a 14-year-old girl said she was assaulted by a 16-year-old girl she knew after she got off the bus at Southampton Drive and Apple Tree Court, Columbia police Officer Latisha Stroer said.
