A Lincoln woman has been arrested for domestic assault after her boyfriend showed up at the hospital with a gunshot wound.
The shooting happened around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at an apartment near 8th and G. That's less than a block away from Park Middle School.
Police say Anthony Branch was shot in the chest during an argument with his live-in girlfriend, Linda Pam. She is now in jail and facing charges of 1st degree Domestic Assault.
Before her arrest, the school was put on lockdown for about 15 minutes. Some parents were shocked to hear the news while other say they're confident the school had everything under control.

Nebraska School Officials Accused of Covering Up Sexual Abuse

Authorities have accused a Nebraska school superintendent, principal and coach of failing to report the alleged sexual assault of a young high school wrestler by several teammates last summer.
The Nebraska State Patrol on Tuesday cited the three Maxwell Public Schools officials — Superintendent Danny Twarling, Principal Aubrey Boucher, and head wrestling coach Ryan Jones — for suspicion of failure to report child abuse or neglect, which is a misdemeanor.
Patrol Investigator Carlos Trevino, in an affidavit, said several members of the wrestling team were present during the alleged attack at a wrestling camp last summer. According to the alleged victim and two boys who said they witnessed but didn't take part in the attack, two team members held down the younger boy while another sodomized him with a soda bottle. On another occasion, at least one team member allegedly groped the victim on a school bus, Trevino said.

Nebraska Crash Kills Two Basketball Coaches, Injures Eight Students

Nebraska authorities say a pickup truck crashed into a van carrying high school basketball players on Friday, killing two of their coaches and another man.
The accident happened along Highway 2 in rural central Nebraska just west of Ansley, a small town about 160 miles west of Lincoln.
The State Patrol said the van's driver, 38-year-old Zane Harvey, and his front-seat passenger, 24-year-old Anthony Blum, were killed. The truck's driver, 70-year-old Albert Sherbeck, also died.
The patrol says Harvey and Blum, both coaches at Broken Bow High School, were driving students home from a basketball clinic in Kearney when an eastbound truck crossed the centerline and hit their westbound van head-on.

A man who possessed child pornography was sentenced May 9, 2012 to 21 months in federal prison.
Terry Tyson, age 54, from Onawa, Iowa, received the sentence after a January 20, 2012 guilty plea to one count of possessing child pornography.
At the guilty plea, Tyson admitted that, between September 2009 and August 2010, he knowingly possessed child pornography on a computer in his residence.
Tyson was sentenced in Sioux City by United States District Court Judge Mark W. Bennett. Tyson was sentenced to 21 months’ imprisonment. A special assessment of $100 was imposed, and Tyson must also serve a five-year term of supervised release after the prison term. He must comply with all sex offender registration and public notification requirements.

U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul, Jr. announced today that Bryan Griswold, 21, of Corning, New York, pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography before U.S. District Judge David G. Larimer. The charge carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison, a fine of $250,000, or both.
