Today's Child Abduction Digest 4-14-12

Tacoma, WA, Tacoma police on Friday were searching for an older van and its occupants after one of them grabbed an 11-year-old boy’s backpack as he walked to school Tuesday.
Detectives were investigating the incident as a possible attempted child abduction, police spokesman Mark Fulghum said Friday.

Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Calgary police are advising about stranger danger after the third suspicious incident involving children over the past 10 days.  Police were made aware of an incident near Jennie Elliott School in southwest Calgary where a man in a brown pickup truck was parked near the school playground at lunchtime Wednesday.  While sitting in his vehicle, he is alleged to have been looking at students with binoculars.

Kansas City, MO, What was first reported by police as an attempted abduction has since been downgraded to a report of a suspicious vehicle. Police said a group of girls were waiting at a bus stop at 94th & Holmes near the Polo Run Apartments when a man pulled up in a green truck. The girls said the man, who was wearing black gloves, motioned for the girls to come over. They were frightened and ran away.
