Crimes against Children 6-28-12

Glastonbury, CT
A 67-year-old resident pleaded guilty to child pornography crimes Wednesday, including using the Internet to arrange sex shows with minors in the Philippines.

In an email, William Paul Patrick, of 60 East Lake Shore Trial, in Glastonbury, offered money for a sex show involving a 7-year-old girl, according to court documents and statements made in court. He allegedly provided explicit instructions about the nature and duration of the acts, and offered cash rewards for performing certain acts on the child. He is charged with one count of using an interstate facility to persuade a minor to engage in sexual activity.

Fort Smith, AK

A Franklin County man, who was arrested last week on child pornography charges, now faces charges of rape and sexual assault in Crawford County, Attorney General Dustin McDaniel said Thursday.
Kenneth Gene Mendenhall, 38, of Altus, was charged with one count of rape and one count of second-degree assault. His bail is set at $500,000. He is being held in the Franklin County Detention Center.

Agents from the attorney general's office began the investigation that led to the new charges after arresting Mendenhall on June 21 on child pornography charges. Franklin County Sheriff Anthony Boen and deputies helped arrest Mendenhall.

Mendenhall was charged with six counts of distributing, possessing or viewing matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child. Deputies said Kenneth Mendenhall confessed to having child pornography during their investigation.

Former Newton elementary school teacher David Ettlinger “will enter a guilty plea” to charges stemming from his alleged role in a global child pornography network, according to court papers, as his attorney continues to negotiate with federal prosecutors.

Ettlinger, whose arrest in January unsettled parents in the affluent Boston suburb, is scheduled to appear in a Louisiana court on Aug. 15. A conclusion of the federal case would clear the way for him to return to Massachusetts to face state charges of indecently assaulting three girls in the Boston area.

Baltimore, MD
A former youth soccer coach from Hagerstown faces sentencing for producing child pornography.
Forty-five-year-old Roger Repp could get up 30 years in prison at his sentencing Thursday in U.S. District Court in Baltimore.

Repp pleaded guilty in March to using a hidden camera to make pictures and video of a 13-year-old girl in her bedroom and bathroom.

He made the images from December 2010 through April 2011, when he was a coach with the Locomotive FC soccer club. He was removed as a coach after the allegations surfaced.

Philadelphia, PA
A Berks County man was arrested and charged for allegedly sexually abusing an underage girl.
On March 5, detectives began investigating Paul Sewell, 44, of Reading. Investigators say they received a report from the Berks County Children and Youth Services identifying a 16-year-old girl who claimed she was sexually abused by Sewell when she was 13 and 14 years of age.

Police say the girl knew Sewell since she was 4-years-old when he was a mutual friend of her mother and considered him to be her uncle. She lived in his home in Reading when she was 13 and 14-years-old, according to investigators. During that time, police say Sewell sexually abused her more than 20 times. The girl told investigators she feared and listened to him because she felt she had nowhere else to live.

  1. I'm sick! David Cummings (Brenham, TX) was released from the Washington County jail 9/25/2012 until a trial date is set. Who will stop this predator from running? Who will protect the family he violated? The children???
