Gilroy Police Seek Men Involved in Apparent Gang-Related Screwdriver Stabbing

Gilroy, CA

Police are seeking a pair of young men in connection with a Sunday stabbing that they believe was gang related.

According to police, the 25-year-old victim was walking on the soccer field behind South Valley Jr. High School on I.O.O.F. Avenue around 6:30 p.m. when he was approached by two men who asked him if he was affiliated with a gang.

One of the men then took a screwdriver out of his backpack and stabbed the victim one time before fleeing.

The man's injury was not life-threatening, police said, and he declined medical treatment.
