IPS leaders say they’ve been told all buses will run Monday morning. That’s after about 80 drivers called in sick Friday, protesting unemployment payments.
IPS held an emergency, closed-door meeting Sunday with union leaders and Durham School Services leaders.
“We were assured this afternoon all of the contracted bus routes will run on schedule tomorrow morning,” said IPS spokesperson John Althardt.
He wouldn’t comment on the dispute between the bus drivers, the state, and Durham School Services, saying IPS’ concern is strictly the students and getting the students to class.
About 200 bus routes were affected Friday afternoon, and 12,000 kids were delayed getting home.
