Anti-Child Pornography Digest Part II 5-9-12

Lonnie Newhouse, 46, of Beckley, West Virginia, has pled guilty to a charge of distribution of child pornography, announced U.S. Attorney Ronald C. Machen, Jr.; James W. McJunkin, Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI’s Washington Field Office; and Cathy L. Lanier, Chief of the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).

Trenton NJ
Thomas P. Cook of Eatontown, New Jersey was sentenced today to 84 months in prison for possessing child pornography, including violent images of child victims, U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman announced.
Cook, 53, previously pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Freda L. Wolfson to possession of child pornography. Judge Wolfson imposed the sentenced today in Trenton federal court.

Eugene, OR
U.S. District Judge Michael R. Hogan sentenced Gary Newell, 69, of Reedsport, to five years in prison for transporting and possessing child pornography. According to court documents from the May 8, 2012 sentencing hearing, Newell shared and traded images and videos of child pornography in online chat rooms. Another troubling aspect of Newell’s conduct, as noted in court filings, includes his admissions that he had written and shared erotic stories involving incest.

Washington, D.C.
A Manalapan, New Jersey woman pleaded guilty today to producing child pornography by sexually abusing a 5-year-old girl on more than one occasion and streaming footage of a sexual assault over the Internet, Assistant Attorney General Lanny A. Breuer of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division and New Jersey U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman announced.
