Riverside, CA
On May 2nd, deputies from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station were
advised of a reported child annoyance that occurred on May 1st near
Lakeside High School, in the area of Laguna Avenue and Washington Street
in the unincorporated area known as Lakeland Village near Lake
Elsinore.
It was determined the 13-year-old victim was walking home from the
school bus stop when she was approached by a man driving a blue,
unknown-make vehicle. He drove alongside her and asked if she needed a
ride home. She declined and continued to walk toward her residence.
The teenager became fearful as the vehicle continued to drive
alongside her and she took her cell phone out of her purse to call her
mother. The driver told her to put the phone away and get in his car.
The victim immediately ran away from the vehicle and to her home, where she advised a family member of the incident.
