A Virginia man who shared explicit child pornography files with an undercover officer in Delaware was extradited here Wednesday to face charges, authorities said.
Sean K. Smith, 30, of Manassas, was charged with 20 counts each of dealing in child pornography, said Jason Miller, spokesman for the state Attorney General’s Office.
The undercover detective, from the Delaware Child Predator Task Force, was contacted by Smith through on online chat room, and Smith sent at least 20 explicitly pornographic images of mostly infants and toddlers being sexually violated, Miller said.
Smith was identified through the chats and the images as having a Virginia address.
The Northern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force was notified, and they obtained a warrant to search Smith’s home for computers and other digital evidence.

The U.S. Attorney's Office says that a Chili man has pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography.
Prosecutors say 28-year-old Steven Niles was identified by federal agents during an undercover child pornography investigation. Investigators say they then found evidence of child pornography on devices found at Niles's home on Battle Green Drive in Chili. Officials say they found over 12,000 images of minors on those devices.

A Milton man charged with multiple counts of exploitation of children and possession of child pornography will not be going to trial on those federal charges until September.

Allen Wright was expected to go to trial Tuesday, Aug. 21, on multiple
charges he exploited children while he was a bus driver for Provider Bus
Service in the Seacoast area and kept thousands of images on his
computer.
Among the alleged victims was a young developmentally disabled boy from Kittery, Maine.
Wright
also faces concurrent charges in Strafford County Superior Court of
felonious sexual assault and 20 other charges, including indecent
exposure and lewdness.
