Atlanta, GA
A previously convicted sex offender who distributed graphic images of
child pornography over the Internet was sentenced today by United
States District Court Judge Willis B. Hunt, Jr. to 15 years in prison.
Mark Twain Heaton, III, 40, of Roswell, Georgia, pleaded guilty to those
charges on March 29, 2012.
Rick Maxwell, Acting Special Agent in Charge, FBI Atlanta Field
Office, stated: “This defendant, being an aggressive distributor of
child pornography and having a past record of such behavior, quickly
became a priority for the FBI’s Innocent Images Task Force
investigators. Working with our established law enforcement partners, a
strong criminal case was built against Mr. Heaton, resulting in today’s
lengthy sentence that will, thankfully, remove him as a threat to our
community’s children.”
Houston, TX
Christopher Clark Pollett, 64, of Houston, has been sentenced to 78
months in federal prison for possession of child pornography, United
States Attorney Kenneth Magidson announced today. Pollett was indicted
January 12, 2011, and entered a guilty plea to one count of possession
of child pornography before U.S. District Judge Lee Rosenthal on
November 22, 2011.
In
handing down the sentence today, Judge Rosenthal stated that the victims
in the images and videos are real children who have been sexually
tortured, and consumers of this material like the defendant are the
reason for their suffering as his consumption creates a demand for the
material.
The investigation—conducted by the FBI Innocent Images Task Force,
which includes members of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office—further
revealed that Pollett was employed by Neighborhood Center Inc., a
non-profit organization dedicated to after school programs and community
development in southwest Houston.

A Salem couple accused of filming sex acts with their two school-age
daughters and trading those videos to people on the East Coast were
confronted by a friend on Facebook who threatened to turn them in if
they didn’t do so themselves.
Salem police arrested the couple

pornography. The Associated Press is withholding their names to protect
the identities of their daughters.
The arrest ended a monthlong
search that originated in Virginia for a woman known only as “Jane Doe,”
who was pictured in sex acts with children. The Department of Homeland
Security’s investigations team sent out a nationwide news release Aug. 7
with pictures of the woman they were seeking – the woman they now
believe is the female half of the couple.
