Crimes against Children 9-10-12

Atlanta, GA
A previously convicted sex offender who distributed graphic images of child pornography over the Internet was sentenced today by United States District Court Judge Willis B. Hunt, Jr. to 15 years in prison. Mark Twain Heaton, III, 40, of Roswell, Georgia, pleaded guilty to those charges on March 29, 2012.

Rick Maxwell, Acting Special Agent in Charge, FBI Atlanta Field Office, stated: “This defendant, being an aggressive distributor of child pornography and having a past record of such behavior, quickly became a priority for the FBI’s Innocent Images Task Force investigators. Working with our established law enforcement partners, a strong criminal case was built against Mr. Heaton, resulting in today’s lengthy sentence that will, thankfully, remove him as a threat to our community’s children.”

Houston, TX
Christopher Clark Pollett, 64, of Houston, has been sentenced to 78 months in federal prison for possession of child pornography, United States Attorney Kenneth Magidson announced today. Pollett was indicted January 12, 2011, and entered a guilty plea to one count of possession of child pornography before U.S. District Judge Lee Rosenthal on November 22, 2011.

In handing down the sentence today, Judge Rosenthal stated that the victims in the images and videos are real children who have been sexually tortured, and consumers of this material like the defendant are the reason for their suffering as his consumption creates a demand for the material.
The investigation—conducted by the FBI Innocent Images Task Force, which includes members of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office—further revealed that Pollett was employed by Neighborhood Center Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to after school programs and community development in southwest Houston.

Ft. Wayne, IN
A convicted sex offender pleaded guilty to new charges this week, admitting to taking naked pictures of a young girl and possessing child pornography.

Bradley Peaver, 34, of New Haven was arrested in August on charges of child exploitation, multiple counts of possession of child pornography and a single charge of possession of marijuana or a synthetic.

A girl, known to Peaver, told her mother Peaver took pictures of her while she was naked when they went fishing together. She told police Peaver videotaped her while she was going to the bathroom in a weedy, wooded area near the pond.

As part of the plea agreement reached with prosecutors, Peaver pleaded guilty in Allen Superior Court to one count of possession of child pornography and a charge of child exploitation.

Portland, OR
A Salem couple accused of filming sex acts with their two school-age daughters and trading those videos to people on the East Coast were confronted by a friend on Facebook who threatened to turn them in if they didn’t do so themselves.

Salem police arrested the couple Tuesday. A federal indictment accuses them of manufacturing child pornography. The Associated Press is withholding their names to protect the identities of their daughters.

The arrest ended a monthlong search that originated in Virginia for a woman known only as “Jane Doe,” who was pictured in sex acts with children. The Department of Homeland Security’s investigations team sent out a nationwide news release Aug. 7 with pictures of the woman they were seeking – the woman they now believe is the female half of the couple.

Ottawa, CA
A 48-year-old Ottawa man has been charged with possessing and sharing child pornography.

Police investigated after they received a complaint from a social media site.

Rodney McMahon was charged Thursday with two counts of possessing child pornography and one count of making it available.

Houston, TX
A Houston man who had more than 17,000 child pornography images and videos has been sentenced to 6½ years in prison.

A Houston federal judge on Friday sentenced 64-year-old Christopher Clark Pollett. Pollett in November pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography in a 2010 case.

The FBI in June 2010 searched Pollett's home. Authorities say several computers, film reels, books and binders had thousands of images of children. About 17,000 digital images and 400 child porn videos were located.

Indianapolis, IN
An Indianapolis man accused of production of child pornography and coercion of a minor pleaded guilty today to charges against him.

Tony R. Fisher, 35, was arrested June 1 after driving from Indianapolis to Columbus, Ohio to meet with an undercover officer whom he believed had to minor foster children, according to U.S. Attorney Carter M. Stewart's Office in the southern district of Ohio.

According to a testimony presented during the hearing at U.S. District Court in Ohio, Fisher contacted an Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force officer in May on the Internet and offered to trade pictures and videos of child pornography. He also told the undercover officer he wanted to engage in sexual activity with his two fictitious children and that he wanted to film the encounter.

Wilmington, DE
A Wilmington man was arrested for distributing child pornography over the Internet depicting victims ranging in age from 13-year-olds to infants less than a year old, state officials said.

Kristopher J. Loeb, 34, of the 100 block of Fifth Ave. in Browntown, was charged with 25 counts of dealing in child pornography.

An undercover investigation into online child pornography distribution lead to members of the Child Predator Task Force raiding Loeb’s home Thursday, said Jason Miller, spokesman for the state Attorney General’s Office.

Detectives seized a large laptop for forensic examination which contained “an extensive quantity” of images of child pornography.

Also seized were 25 videos and numerous pictures depicting children of all ages, Miller said.

Montgomery, AL
An Alabama man that admitted he posed as Justin Bieber in teen chat rooms to convince young girls to expose themselves on webcams may have victims worldwide. Canadian Police say the man has a history of child pornography.

In August, Christopher Patrick Gunn, 32, of Montgomery, Alabama pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of child pornography, 14 counts of interstate extortion and seven counts of stalking.

An investigator in Canada reportedly initiated the investigation by contacting American authorities at the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security over the summer.
