Crimes against Children 10-1-12 Part II

Louisville, KY
A man accused of looking at child pornography on a computer at a local library faced a judge Monday morning.

Mark L. Brown, 37, is being held on a $50,000 cash bond.

Officers arrested Brown Sunday afternoon at the Bon Air library on Del Rio Place.

Investigators said there was pornography on his thumb drive.

Chief U.S. District Judge William Steele found Cameron Bryant Harris competent and scheduled his trial for next month.

Jordan had notified prosecutors that he might pursue an insanity defense, which prompted them to ask for a psychiatric evaluation of Harris. The medical staff at the Federal Detention Center in Miami concluded that the defendant understood the nature of the charges and could assist his lawyer in his own defense.

Belleville, IL
A Belleville man will serve more than four years in prison for possessing child pornography.

Gregory L. Robinson, 39, of Belleville, was sentenced in federal court Monday to 52 months in prison and 10 years probation. He was also ordered to pay $1,000 in restitution to the victim.

The child pornography was uncovered during a federal sting operation in June 2010. Law enforcement officers learned that a computer located at Robinson's residence in Belleville had files depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct that were available to download.

Jackson, MS
A child pornography investigation that began in Massachusetts has led to federal charges in Mississippi against a Georgia man accused of having sex with a girl who was 3 or 4 years old, according to a complaint filed Monday.

The complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Jackson, Miss., charges Marco Laquin Rogers, 26, of Atlanta, with sexual exploitation of a child. It wasn't immediately clear if Rogers had been taken into custody or if he had a lawyer.

The complaint says a child pornography investigation and the Sept. 6 arrest of another man, Jeremy Atral Hodges, 25, of Cambridge, Mass., led authorities to Rogers.
