Last week, US Attorney Carmen Ortiz's Office announced the arrest of 45-year-old Gerald Deneault of 575 North Main Street, Mansfield for receipt of child pornography. According to a release from the US Attorney's Office, Deneault, a Level 2 sex offender, had been previously convicted of indecent assault and battery on a child under the age of 14.
Deneault was arrested at his Mansfield home last Wednesday morning. It is alleged that Deneault received child pornography from a Canadian company on several occasions between June 2008 and February 2011.
While searching his home, federal authorities seized evidence including computers and DVDs. Members of the newly formed Cape Cod Computer Crime Unit were at Deneault's home during the seizure of evidence. The unit will assist federal authorities with the forensic examination of the evidence.
