Crimes against Children 10-11-12

Mansfield, MA
A Level II sex offender from Mansfield has been charged with receiving child pornography as part of the same investigation that resulted in the arrest of a Children’s Hospital doctor last month.
According to Wicked Local Mansfield, Gerald Deneault, 45, was arrested at his 575 North Main St. home on Oct. 3.

During a warrant search of his residence, federal officers seized evidence on computers, videos and DVDs that Deneault received child pornography four times over a three-year period, U.S. Attorney Carmen M. Ortiz and Kevin Niland, of the United States Postal Inspection Service, said.

Joliet, IL
A Troy Township Democratic official was charged with setting up a sex date with a 15-year-old boy and federal agents searched her house on suspicion she has been producing child pornography videos, police said.
Margarita Hernandez, 32, of 6901 Monmouth Drive on Joliet's far west side, was arrested about 3 p.m. Thursday and taken to the Will County jail on a warrant charging her with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

Hernandez had sex with a 15-year-old Chicago boy during a prearranged July meeting at her home, police said.

The Woodlands, TX

Andrew Robinson Mug ShotMontgomery County Precinct 3 deputy constables said they arrested a The Woodlands man on Saturday on charges of possession of child pornography.

Investigators took Andrew Lyon Robinson, an employee of Saudi Aramco, into custody at Bush Intercontinental Airport Saturday when he returned home from Saudi Arabia.

Deputy constables said they searched Robinson's residence Friday and found numerous videos of children engaged in sexual acts.

Faribault, MN

A former drama teacher at Shattuck-St. Mary's School is accused of sexually assaulting at least six former students during his decade-long tenure at the prestigious private college preparatory school in Faribault, Minn.

On Monday, Oct. 8, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension outlined 17 counts of criminal sexual conduct against Lynn Seibel, 70, involving six former male students, who are now 28 to 30 years old.

The allegations, which came to light in June when a former student disclosed them to authorities, detail incidents taking place from 1999 to 2003, when most of the students were ages 16 to 18.

SFGate

Max Budziak had a traumatic childhood in Nazi-occupied Ukraine, but went on to become a U.S. naval airman in Vietnam, then worked 37 years as an AT&T engineer and a postal carrier before retiring. Somewhere along the way, his lawyers said, he developed obsessive-compulsive disorder, which led him to compulsively collect many things in his San Jose home — including child pornography.

Budziak is now serving a five-year sentence in federal prison after being convicted of distributing sexually explicit images and videos that FBI agents found on his computer in 2007. On Friday, the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals examined his case and delivered a mixed verdict: There was enough evidence for a jury to find him guilty, but the trial judge should consider additional evidence that was withheld and decide whether to order a new trial.

Columbia, MO

A 53-year-old Columbia man was sentenced to supervised probation for admitting to possessing child pornography that was found on a computer during maintenance at a repair shop.

Joseph L. Clark pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography and was sentenced to five years in prison. Circuit Judge Jodie Asel suspended the execution of the sentence in favor of five years of supervised probation. Clark could be ordered to serve the prison sentence if he violates the conditions of his probation.

The Boone County Sheriff's Department Cyber Crimes Task Force in March 2011 was notified by a local computer repair shop that its workers found child pornography on Clark's machine, police said. The task force seized the computer. A large quantity of child pornography was found on the computer, depicting children believed to be as young as 4 to 7 years old.

Wilton, NC
A Wilton man is accused of downloading child pornography on a work computer while employed as the deputy chairman of the criminal justice program at United Tribes Technical College in Bismarck.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Richard Cutting, 58, on a felony charge that carries a maximum punishment of five years in prison.

Cutting was fired at UTTC in early September. Two employees later reported finding inappropriate photographs on a computer Cutting had used.

Catasauqua, PA
Former Catasauqua High School Principal Bruce Krasley has been sentenced to prison on child pornography charges.A former principal at three area high schools was hauled off to jail Tuesday for distributing child pornography.

Bruce L. Krasley, 62, of Allentown was sentenced to three to 23 months in jail by Lehigh County Judge Kelly L. Banach. The judge is allowing Krasley to enter the county's work-release program so he can perform his mandated 300 hours of community work service and undergo treatment for what his attorney called "an addiction" to child porn.

The county's probation department recommended house arrest, but Banach said she wanted to send a message that the exploitation of children cannot be tolerated, especially from a man who was supposed to be a role model.

"I'm particularly offended that a person in your position would take comfort in some way in the viewing of child pornography," Banach said.

"This is not a victimless crime," Banach continued. "This is a crime involving the exploitation of children."

Portland, ME
Top PhotoProsecutors said Tuesday that markers indicating child pornography were found on a hard drive seized from the Thomaston home of Mark Strong Sr., who allegedly ran a prostitution operation in Kennebunk.

In Cumberland County Superior Court Tuesday, Strong and his alleged partner in the prostitution operation, former Zumba teacher Alexis Wright, pleaded not guilty on more than 150 counts combined.
Following their arraignments, Justice Nancy Mills addressed a motion for a protective order filed by the state that would effectively seal all materials in the case and prohibit attorneys or prosecutors from discussing the case. Mills pushed Deputy District Attorney Justina McGettigan on a piece of evidence McGettigan said prosecutors had but would not be turning over to attorneys for Strong and Wright with discovery materials.

Prosecutors who charged a local priest with child sex abuse now allege he also possessed child pornography.

The Ramsey County attorney's office charged Curtis Carl Wehmeyer, a priest formerly assigned to Blessed Sacrament Church on the East Side of St. Paul, with 17 counts of possession of child porn.
Wehmeyer, 48, of Oakdale, will make his first court appearance on both sets of charges Wednesday, Oct. 10.

In the criminal complaint filed Tuesday in Ramsey County District Court, prosecutors alleged the following:
During the investigation of the alleged sexual abuse, two boys reported that Wehmeyer showed them pornography on a laptop computer. This would happen before and during the molestation, they said.
