Youth Minister Steven Harding Faces Child Molest, Sexual Misconduct with a Minor Charges
New Palestine, IN
A youth minister of a New Palestine church was arrested today and charge with child molestation and sexual misconduct with a minor for incidents that happened in 2009 and 2010. The girl was 13-years old at the time.
The girl's family contacted the Department of Child Services last spring, and a criminal investigation was started. Steve Harding, the suspect, denied the allegations last spring, but was given a polygraph test in November, which indicated he was lying when he said he did not have inappropriate contact with the girl.
The suspect is no longer listed in the church's website.

School Staff Get New Protection from Online Bullying
Moore Country, NC
Students complaining about their teachers is as old as education, but taking it too far will now be costly for those who post their insults online.
Passed last summer, the School Violence Protection Law of 2012 now makes it a crime for students to "intimidate or torment" their teachers via Internet postings. Violators can face a misdemeanor charge and a fine of up to $1,000 if they are found guilty.
The prohibitions against bullying teachers include building a fake online profile or website and posting or encouraging others to post "private, personal or sexual information pertaining to a school employee" on the Internet.
Posting a real or a doctored image of a school employee online is also illegal, as is accessing, altering or erasing "any computer network, computer data, computer program or computer software, including breaking into a password-protected account or stealing or otherwise accessing passwords."

FBI Traces Source Behind Hack of Brownsburg Community Schools' Website
Brownsburg, IN
The Brownsburg Community School Corporation held a press conference Thursday following a hack of the school system's website.
Officials announced they traced the source of the hack to a person in Iraq who is known for spreading propaganda. They said this individual has never followed up on any threats, though.
Wednesday, someone claiming to represent the group IRAQI-TOP hacked into the school's system and replaced the web page with graphics of Arabic writing and threatening text.
School officials said the corporation was not specifically targeted and categorized the incident as a "random breach."
An on-duty shift supervisor alerted school officials following the breach. The Brownsburg Police Department then got involved, contacting the FBI.
Brownsburg Police are classifying the incident as computer tampering. They do not believe the threats were credible. They also said no personal information was jeopardized.
