Cincinnati, OH
Two 16 year old boys charged with kidnapping an 8 year old boy from an
Anderson Township school yard have agreed to plead "admit" to a reduced
charge of abduction. It's essentially a guilty plea in juvenile court.
Local
12 Reporter Larry Davis was in court as the teens agreed to the reduced
charge and avoided the possibility of being tried as adults. Davis
reports both sides were behind closed doors for the better part of an
hour working on the plea agreement, which means the 8 year old victim
and the young witnesses will not have to testify in court.
The
Anderson High School juniors sat at the defense table in handcuffs and
leg irons. They told Juvenile Court Judge John Williams they agreed
with the terms of the plea agreement.
Prosecutors say the two
teens approached the eight year old boy and his friends while they were
playing whiffle ball at Ayer Elementary School. The teens offered
candy. One of the teens allegedly grabbed the eight year old around
the waist--while the other went to the car and opened the door.
