Gahanna School Scare: Police Reveal More about Teen Suspect

A teenager whose cryptic online messages led to his arrest this week said he had thought about killing himself but wanted to “die like a hero,” according to a Gahanna police report released yesterday.
He also told police he had not considered shooting his classmates at Gahanna Lincoln High School. But when police asked how he would perform a shooting, he described in vivid detail how he would trap students and lead officials astray, according to the report.
Police arrested Spencer Pearson, 16, on Monday after tracking several tweets and two YouTube videos to a computer at his home at 1117 Northwood Circle in Gahanna. He was released yesterday from juvenile detention and is charged with a delinquency count of inducing panic. Authorities say his videos and messages over the weekend spurred 200 calls to police from concerned parents and students.

3 Ohio Teens Charged over School Violence Tweets

A southwest Ohio sheriff says three teenagers face charges over messages posted on social media that referenced school violence.
Lt. Mike Craft of the Butler County sheriff's office tells The Middletown Journal (http://bit.ly/QbhshQ ) that threats about violence against Edgewood High School were posted on the Twitter account of a 17-year-old boy. They referred to violence involving explosives, assault rifles and shotguns.
The sheriff's office says the teen was being held in juvenile custody on charges of making terroristic threats, inducing panic and menacing.
