Police in Shawnee are investigating a possible attempted child abduction after an unknown person called the school asking for a kindergartner to have his bus drop-off location switched.




The boy's mom, Amber Crook, is very upset about the incident. She says she has not slept since she got the phone call from her 6-year-old's school saying her child went missing. Thankfully, she was able to pick her son up after the bus route was changed.

Now police and the school are trying to figure out who called the school and requested the little boy's drop-off location to change.

Norfolk, VA
A boy riding his school bus reportedly saw something unsettling Thursday morning and now police are investigating a possible abduction.

According to police, the 12-year-old boy was on his bus in the 1200 block of Norview Avenue, when he spotted a young girl in a van who he believed was being held against her will.

Lafayette, LA
A Lafayette man was arrested yesterday after attempting to pick up a child he did not know from a school bus stop.

Deputies responded to a citizen call concerning a suspected attempted abduction of a 12-year-old child who had just been dropped off by a school bus in the 100 block of Pennington Drive in Lafayette Parish. The Charles Burke Elementary male student told deputies that a stranger pulled up on the side of him while he was walking and told him to the get into the truck. The child ran home in an obviously fearful state and alerted his mother who called authorities.

Urbana, IL
The Champaign County sheriff's office is seeking information about a reported attempted abduction of two girls Wednesday afternoon in Urbana.

Neither girl was hurt, according to Lt. Greg Mills of the Champaign County sheriff's office.
According to a police report, Champaign County sheriff's deputies and Urbana police were called to the 1500 block of North Broadway Avenue, Urbana, at 3:11 p.m. after two 13-year-old girls reported an attempted abduction.

Bradenton, FL
The Bradenton Police Department is investigating a possible child abduction attempt involving two students who attend Prine Elementary School in Bradenton.

The alleged incident took place yesterday afternoon, Thursday, May 3rd as the two students were walking home from school
