A MANHATTAN school aide accused of molesting a disabled student was hit with 10 counts of possessing child pornography Wednesday.
The longtime city school employee was already accused of two counts of sex abuse and endangering the welfare of a child for taking the 8-year-old boy into the school’s bathroom, telling him to undress and touching him, according to prosecutors.
A Massachusetts man charged in an international child porn investigation will continue to be held without bail.
Geoffrey Portway of Worcester was charged in July after state and
federal agents allegedly found child pornography and photos of children
who appeared to be dead on his computer.
He is among 46 people arrested in an investigation that began with the arrest of another Massachusetts man, Robert Diduca, who has been sentenced to 18 years in prison. Authorities have identified more than 140 child victims in seven countries.

of eight girls have come forward to police. James Daniel Hanna, a Japton
business owner who lives in an apartment connected to the store, was
arrested on Aug. 29 on charges of producing child pornography.
Boyd said parents in the area told sheriff deputies Hanna had been engaging in sexual misconduct with young children in the area.

A 24-year-old man who lived in Surry County
and the York-Williamsburg area was sentenced in federal court on
Wednesday to 13 years in prison on five counts of receipt of child
pornography, according to a U.S. Attorney news release.
Philip C. Caton of Martinsburg, W.Va., pleaded guilty in a plea agreement on May 1, according to documents filed in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Bishop Robert Finn received two years of probation, but that sentence was suspended. He is required to have mandatory abuse reporter training.
Mr. Finn and the Catholic Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph were each charged with two misdemeanour counts of failing to report suspected child abuse to the state. Mr. Finn was acquitted on a second count. Prosecutors said Thursday they are seeking to dismiss the charges against the diocese. The judge is set to rule Friday.
The charges are related to the child pornography case of Rev. Shawn Ratigan, in which Mr. Finn and other church officials knew about photos on the priest’s computer but didn’t turn him in for six months.

Suffolk County police say they found the material on Vincent Sparagano's computer.
The Lindenhurt resident is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday on a charge of possessing a sexual performance by a child.
Sparagano already was on probation for sending suggestive emails to a 14-year-old girl in 2010.

Prosecutor Mat Heck, Jr. announced today that the defendant, 39- year-old Christopher Witherspoon, of Brookville, who was convicted for 15 felony counts of hard-core child pornography, was sentenced to probation. He was also ordered to serve 160 days in the county jail as a condition of his probation.

Michael Thomas Clift, 49, of Portland, Texas, has landed in prison
for 14 years, United States Attorney Kenneth Magidson announced today.
Clift pleaded guilty to distribution of child pornography on April 30,
2012.
Clift came to the attention of FBI Corpus Christi when an FBI child
pornography search warrant was executed on a home in Minneapolis,
Minnesota, in September 2011. A subsequent forensic examination of
computers seized in that investigation led to the discovery of several
individuals engaged in trading child pornography with the Minnesota
suspect, one of whom was identified as Clift.

Ketchmark, Acting United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced that a Joplin, Missouri man pleaded guilty in federal court today to producing child pornography and will plead guilty in state court later this month in a separate case involving the sexual abuse of the same four-year-old victim.
Jason Dewayne Beshears, 30, of Joplin, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Richard E. Dorr to eight counts of producing child pornography.
Under the terms of today’s plea agreement, Beshears must also plead guilty to statutory sodomy and statutory rape in a separate case in the Circuit Court of Jasper County, Missouri. Beshears must agree to a total sentence of life imprisonment in the state case, to run concurrently with the sentence imposed in this federal case.

McJunkin, Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI’s Washington Field Office; and Cathy L. Lanier, Chief of the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).
According to the government’s evidence, on June 27, 2012, Swain contacted a man he believed to be the father of a 12-year-old girl, using a social network site. That man turned out to be an undercover officer with the FBI’s Child Exploitation Task Force. Over the next few days, Swain engaged in online conversations with the undercover officer. During this period, Swain sent the undercover officer 13 images of child pornography, including videos of adult men engaged in sexual acts with children.
