School security controversy in Bridgeport

Bridgeport, CT
In a dispute over who sets policy, a member of the Board of Education refused to give up her driver's license at the high school her daughter attends.

After Sandy Hook, the Bridgeport Police conducted a security assessment, and developed the policy in which visitors surrender their driver's license or ID, and do not get it back until they leave.

The Board member's stance was that it is not policy until the Board of Education votes on, and approves it.
