Marrero Teen Booked in Stabbing at John Ehret High School
Marrero, LA
A 17-year-old John Ehret High School student was booked after stabbing another student with scissors on campus Monday morning, the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office has announced. Ayesha Majeer, of 6433 Rue Louis Phillipe, Marrero, was booked with one count each of aggravated battery and illegal carrying of a concealed weapon.
The injured 15-year-old student was reported in stable condition at Interim LSU Public Hospital with with non-life threatening injuries.
A teacher reported the incident around 7:15 a.m. to Detective Brian Johnson, who is assigned to the campus at 4300 Patriot Ave. The teacher said a student was stabbed in a fight outside the school cafeteria.
Johnson's investigation revealed the altercation stemmed from an ongoing problem between Majeer and the unidentified student over a friend. Majeer allegedly told Johnson the victim approached her and began arguing with her. Majeer allegedly admitted after she was confronted, she took scissors from her book bag and stabbed the victim several times.

Ohio College Safe, Reopened after Bomb Threat

Hiram College officials gave the "all clear" and reopened their northeast Ohio school Friday night, after an hours-long sweep found nothing suspicious following a bomb threat.
College spokesman Tom Ford said the campus community was alerted that the school was safe.
"Nothing was found that was suspicious," Ford said.
The college received an emailed bomb threat about 4 p.m. and ordered everyone on campus to evacuate. Ford said state and federal authorities were notified about the email, and safety teams with bomb-sniffing dogs checked the campus "room by room, building by building."
