Cell Phone Video Reveals Teen's Elaborate Plan to Blow Up School
Tampa, FL
Cell phone video just released by prosecutors offers a chilling view into the mind of a Florida teenager who in 2011 was charged with plotting to kill teachers and students with bombs at his Tampa high school.
Jared Cano, then 17, wrote a manifesto that detailed his plans for an attack in August 2011 on the first day of classes at Freedom High School in Tampa, Fla., from which he had been expelled in March 2010. Police arrived at the home where Cano lives with his mother to arrest him. In his home police recovered bomb-making material, including fuses, timers, shrapnel, accelerant and plastic tubing.
In the recently released video, Cano outlines to the minute his plans to blow up Freedom High School.
"For those of you retards who don't know who I am, I'm the Freedom High School shooter in Tampa, Florida. Well I will be in a couple months," Cano says on the video. "My plan is to set a bomb here at point A, here at point B, point C and point D. Then I got to get to the side entrance of the school by 7:24. The bombs blow at 7:26."
Cano never got the chance to go through with his deadly plan, because a friend tipped off police and he was arrested. In addition to the bomb-making materials at his home, investigators found a manifesto and illustrations detailing his plans.

Attempted ‘Lynching’ No Joke Say Parents of Black Boys in Arkansas School Incident
Wynne, AR
Two students were expelled and seven suspended from Wynne High School in Wynne, Ark., but parents of two Black boys, who were victims in what parents call an attempted lynching, are furious, saying justice has not been done and their fear for the safety of their children.
Cheryl Webster said all sorts of things went through her mind but she hadn’t imagined what she was told. Some boys tried to hang Mickey, her child, and his teammate, MaKye McDaniel, with a noose during football practice.
She is furious because of the assault, incensed that school officials waited three days to notify her, and outraged because they illegally questioned Mickey without her presence or knowledge, she told The Final Call. Oddly, before she even knew what was happening, the principal and assistant principal were profusely apologizing, she recalled.
She recounted her 14-year-old son’s ordeal: On Sept. 24, another student called him to the back of the weight room. One boy lifted him up while another tried to put a noose across his head and he had to fight them off, she said. “I don’t care if you’re White or Black. What happened to my son should never have happened,” Ms. Webster declared.

Students Suspended after Seeing Nude Photo of Teacher on iPad
Anderson, IN
Four Anderson middle school students were punished this week after seeing a nude picture of their teacher on her school-issued iPad.
Josh Troutt, 13, was one of the students suspended from Highland Middle School.
He told Fox59 he and three friends received permission to use their teacher's iPad during class, but when they turned it on, they saw a revealing picture of their teacher.
"It just showed up of our teacher with a bra on, but most of her breast showing," explained Troutt. "I never thought of seeing my teacher like that."
Troutt’s friends told a school leader and they all got in trouble. One student got a warning, Troutt and another student were suspended and a fourth was expelled.
