Police are investigating a report of a possible child abduction attempt near Prine Elementary School in Bradenton.

According to reports, two students were walking home from school on Oxford Drive on Thursday afternoon when they said a man driving a white Hummer stopped, leaned out of the vehicle and asked if they wanted candy.

The students did not respond, and the man drove off.

The suspect is described as a white man between the ages of 25 and 30.  He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood over his head.

Silver City, NV
A Silver City teen kept his cool and thwarted a man's attempt to grab him on his way to catch the bus on Thursday morning, police said.

The 13-year-old La Plata Middle School student was attacked Thursday morning in the area of 12th and Swan streets, according to Silver City Police.

The suspect, described as a white male who is approximately 40 years old, had not been apprehended by Silver City Police at press time on Thursday, but Capt. Terry Fortenberry said that police had issued an attempt-to-locate for the man as well as the dark blue mini van that witnesses reported he had been driving.
